Globe valves, in contrast to gate valves, can be used to control flow or pressures as well as completely stop flow. It may occasionally be used as a check valve or a pressure relief valve. The globe valve has a significantly higher pressure loss in the fully open position when compared to a gate valve or ball valve. Typically, when installing globe valves, the inlet should be placed beneath the valve seat. A needle valve is a type of valve that can be used to control the flow of a substance through an appliance or system, typically either water or gas. The presence of a tiny plunger that resembles a needle is the value's distinctive feature. A needle valve is a particular kind of valve having a tiny port and a plunger with a needle-like thread.
